You will learn what you need to feel comfortable telling and sharing stories.
Whether this is your first time, or you wish to polish your storytelling skills, this is for you. There is no age limit to this learning, all you need is an imagination and desire for creating something magical. And for sure, Grandparents are more than welcome!

Stories have an abundance of emotional value that will leave an everlasting impression for all to share.
We all tell stories, some of us better than others, yet this is a daily activity from the moment we wake up to the last thing at night. Stories are effectively, the "lifeblood" of our daily lives and that is why it always helps if you know how to tell a story, so you can achieve your desired outcome in mind.
Although, easier said than done, as we are not all great storytellers and more often than not, lack the personal time commitment, the know-how on how to construct a story, and lack the patients to give it a go, and therefore easily dismiss the value of what you can actually achieve. Which is a great pity.
Those of us who are of a certain age will remember Max Bygraves (1922-2012) the English comedian, singer, actor, and variety performer who appeared on numerous radio and television shows. His catchphrase ‘I wanna tell you a story’ became an integral part of his act and something if you say to your children, you have already hooked them into wanting to know more.
My kids now say - "Daddy, tell me a story, the one about.........."
So are you ready to give it a go?
Let me share a bit more about what you can achieve:
- gain back invested time so you can relax, unwind and enjoy your evening (watch your favourite movie)
- learn the art of storytelling in simple easy to understand steps (my children tell me their bedtime stories now)
- how to create magical time with your children that will help you achieve your desire outcome
- forge a stronger and more trusting relationship with your children
- make bedtime routines more fun and something you all look forward to each night
- enable children to explore their imagination to create the most magical adventures
- for parents, teachers and guardians, to understand their children on a deeper and more emotional level
- help address potential emotional challenges, either at school, in the playground or at home
- how to capture your stories via audio recordings for memorabilia (this is an absolute must)
- be part of an ongoing "mastermind" support group with other parents, teachers, guardians and expert guests
- consider creating your own bedtime story books and be part of our planned book group
- to join our Podcast for storytelling, children telling stories, or exhibiting their musical talents.
- have your children loving this and sharing their stories with friends and family members
- plus so much more......
Great stories are for everyone even when only written or told for just one person, as they do get shared.
The more you share storytelling with your children, they will naturally become your greatest advocate and reference, as they will freely share their experience with other children, whilst adding their flavour to it of course, enticing others to want to join in. When parents, teachers and children understand the value of stories and storytelling, this will carry them through life, not just at school.
I have a separate programme for children and teachers called: School-kit for Life, which goes deeper into the following:
- what a child loves, is good at and can harness
- emotional intelligence, understanding, address certain challenges such as FEAR and in most cases overcoming
- persona types and what are you?
- leveraging on basic NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) to use whist storytelling
Just reach out if that interests you.
People say storytelling is an art!
We are all artists and can learn how to tell engaging stories, once you learn the basic principles. Then working back from your desired outcome in mind (such as getting your kids to go to sleep), you formulate your stories to a timeline, starting with the end time in mind (10-15 minutes duration), adding all the magical ingredient in between to create something marvellous.
Sounds easy, doesn't it?
Well, actually it's a lot harder said than done, and that is why I'm here to help you, as it has taken me years to master this, trying out many different methodologies, often leaving me exhausted and extremely frustrated. Although, once I found what works for my children, I applied this new learning to teach others.
My typical clients are:
- parents
- teachers
- guardians
- educators
- children

Welcome to my online Storytelling Workshop where you will learn more about me and my work, and embrace the great pleasure of storytelling with your children.
During the Workshop, I encourage you to share your experiences with storytelling, the challenges putting children to bed, the lack of concentration at school, why children switch off and daydream, and how to put into place a methodology that can help address the most frustrating challenges.
Although, before we dive into the detail, this short online workshop is to gain a level set, an understanding of your challenges, how you are currently managing these and a way forward, whilst learning the fundamentals of storytelling you can practise with your children.
With some role playing to make it fun!

Your Host
James Moffat - As a father of 3 wonderful children, my wife gave me the challenge of putting them to bed, and once in bed, then to sleep.
Prior to bedtime stories, it was a nightmare every night, as there is nothing worse ending a hard day with kids that really don't want to go to bed. This created immense frustration, not only for our kids, but for my wife and I, as we thought there must be an easier way.
This is when our storytelling journey began and evolved over time to something very magical, memorable and immense fun, that I now share with other parents.
Our children now love bedtime, as I take them off on their “marvellous adventures“ exploring their imagination and creating wonderful, repeatable stories.
Following this success, I introduced storytelling as a core ingredient for startups, business owners and International companies I consult with.
Additionally, hosting my weekly Featured Business Podcast, where my guests share their stories from childhood to where they are now, to help inspire, educate and bring hope to others on their life journey.
Storytelling is for everyone and I'm happy to show you how.
This particular workshop has a focus on bedtime storytelling with your children, so whether you are a parent, grandparent, guardian, teacher, this will be extremely useful, as the methodology and formula can be applied throughout the day and used for all communication, school subjects and to identify problems.
There are many and all children are different and experience a variety of challenges throughout their childhood, although the most common I see are:
- going to bed (not wanting, too hyperactive or scared)
- going to sleep (once in bed)
- experiencing; anger, crying, frustration
Having worked with International schools with children between 10-14 years old, in mixed classes of 20+ children and their teacher, I see lots of emotional challenges children are suffering with that are basically going untreated and easily dismissed as bad behaviour. Additionally, working with parents and my own 3 small children, I see first hand the problems and my main objective are to ensure the well-being and better quality of life for my children, and if it works for me, it has a good possibility to work for others.
The workshop is just an introduction into Storytelling for Children, yet this can extended out to more personalised programmes later.
Yes, many times in small group of 2-5 people and larger as a webinar, rather than an interactive (hands on), workshop.
As noted above, the benefit's are insurmountable as you will start to discover more about yourself and your children as you follow the formula.
Typically, learning the best way to entice your children to want to go to bed and leveraging on the power of storytelling to help enable this.
We will "role play" and make this very interactive so you can share your experiences, give examples of what you do, or would like to try and we help one another.
Of course you can bring a friend, partner or grandparent and their pay only a donation, I will make a link available.
Please follow the link below and schedule a call.
Yes, typically conducted online via Zoom.

This is absolutely amazing for Dad's and I can't promote this strongly enough, as it has change my world, and we have now created over 400 audio recordings that will be a reminder of the immense fun and laughter we share taking our imagination's and stories to a whole new level. And that was before we had the twins and their joint stories.
